In order to improve your health, you should move for a minimum of 20 minutes every day.
The easiest way to increase your physical activity is walking. So, take a short walk today, or better yet, right now!
In addition to many good qualities, walking can help you to:
- reduce weight
- reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes
- lower blood pressure and cholesterol
- strengthen leg and core muscles
- strengthen bones
- reduce stress
- improve brain activity
- sleep better.
And what makes walking especially convenient – it’s completely free!
So plan one (or more) walk(s) into your day and make this activity a daily habit. We will give you some tips on how to do it more easily:
- get off the bus a few stops earlier so that you can walk at least 10 minutes.
- park your car a little further from the door and walk to the office.
- if it is not possible to use a further parking space, leave the car in the parking lot as far as possible and detour to the door.
- walk to the desired restaurant/cafe for lunch or coffee.
- take a 10-minute walk after your lunch break to refresh your mind before returning to work.
Such small changes do not take much time out of your day, but they can do a lot of good for your body and mind! So, take a break and go for a walk!
