This time I’m writing about 5 more ways how to do HIIT training. You can read what HIIT training means and what it is in my previous post. In this blog post you will find even more exciting combinations, exercises and hopefully they will inspire you even more!
- Burpeeaka THE conditioning exercise
A picture says more than a thousand words. I believe that many readers have encountered this exercise and know how difficult it is. If you haven’t, it’s time to get to know it!
For beginners, I recommend doing 5 burpees, rest for 20-30 seconds and repeat 5 rounds.
For the more experienced, it would be exciting to combine the burpee with another exercise. There are many possibilities, I will give two examples.
- 5 burpees + 1 pushup; 4burpees + 2 pushups; 3 burpees + 3 pushups etc. until 1 burpees + 5 pushups. If you still have time, come back with the same logic up to 5 burpees + 1 push-up.
- My favorite way to incorporate burpees into the workout routine is with the leg press. I do 15-20 reps with the leg press, then 10 burpees and rest. 3 rounds.
- Pyramid workout
- Choose 3 exercises such as lunges, push-ups and squat jumps.
- Every exercise 10 repetitions
- rest for 15 sec
- and in the next round you perform each exercise 9 repetitions,
- rest for 15 sec…
- and so on until one repetition per exercise.
- Train with ropes
Perhaps you have noticed thick black ropes lying on the floor in gyms. These ropes provide an excellent load on the upper body.
I recommend the 3 most common exercises: two-hand wave, alternate wave, and both-hand rope kicks.
Type in Google “battle ropes”, you’ll find more exercises.
- Do aerobic work between strength training sets
Example: 10 chin-ups, run for 15 seconds to the other end of the gym and back, and continue with the next set.
If there is nowhere to run, you can do knee or calf raises, jumps, etc. on the spot.
- Play!
Playing is the most fun way to do interval training. The best example is ball games – sprinting and jogging are alternated during the game, depending on the game situation. As you immerse yourself in an exciting game, the course of which you can determine yourself, you won’t even notice that it’s a good workout… until the final whistle (:
